Thoughts on Texas Man Facing Life in Prison for making pot brownies.

Texas,19 year old Jacob Lavoro is facing life in prison for being in possession of a pound of drugs and a jar of hash oil.The pound of drugs being a pound of pot laced brownies.Even though only roughly 2.5 grams of THC actually in the brownies, the charge still stands.

First off,I think the charges are a little absurd given the circumstances.Yes,the suspect in question did do a crime, and was in possession of an illegal substance. You have the "best" justice system in the world, trying to put some behind bars for something as small as some "hash" brownies, and they let murderers, child abusers, etc. pretty much walk free. How can something like this be justified?

Crazy to think, the America Justice System is suppose to be highly regarded.Mr. Lavoro does need to be punished for his crime, but someone's over punishing this young man.I can understand, the court's stance on drugs, but they can't give someone life in prison due to your view on the crime.Hopefully a lesser sentenced is given,so he can make up for his mistakes.

How does everyone else feel about this? I would enjoy to hear everyone's thoughts on this story.
